Jamestown Soccer Club Programs

Members of the Jamestown Soccer Club have several different options spanning the various competitive levels of youth soccer available in North Carolina. Below are brief descriptions of the three levels of soccer as well as links to those sections of the website. The JSC understands and recognizes that players are looking to get different things out of the game in terms of competition and commitment and each of the three levels offered by the club target the different needs.

Classic Soccer: Classic soccer is the highest level of competitive youth soccer offered in North Carolina. Teams competing at this level are placed in one of three leagues (Premier, 1st Division, and 2nd Division) within the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association. After each season, teams may be promoted to a high division or relegated to a lower one depending on their win/loss record over the course of the season. Placement on Classic level rosters is determined by a tryout process.

Challenge Soccer: Challenge soccer is the middle level of competitive youth soccer offered in North Carolina. Players will compete against local teams in the Triad Area Challenge League ("TCL"). As with Classic Soccer players must attend a tryout situation before being offered a spot on a Jammers’ roster. Each player will be guaranteed playing time as the program and coaches focus on development.

  • U10 Program:  A sub-program is our Introductory year at U10.  Here, JSC has developed a special program that encourages and welcomes players to the world of competitive soccer.  Click Here for more information

Recreation Soccer: The goal of the Jamestown Soccer Club’s Recreational program is to provide a fun, low pressure learning enviornment that will foster a love of playing the game of soccer. Emphasis is placed on skill development, participation, and an overall enjoyment of the game. Unlike our Travel programs, there are no tryouts required to participate at the Recreation level. Players will have at least one practice per week along with weekly games in which each player is expected to play a minimum of 50% of the time, and no one player should play the entire game.

US Club Soccer: The JSC US Club Summer program will support the development of our players in a strong, competitive environment while being coached by a member of the JSC technical staff or a nationally qualified head coach. Teams and players will be invited to participate by the technical staff with each team being provided a training, game and tournament schedules along with an anticipated per player budget. Bridge Program
The Jamestown Youth League (JYL) and Jamestown Soccer Club (JSC) Tournament Team Bridge Program aim is to provide supplemental opportunities to JYL members and non members that wish to extend their recreational soccer experience and / or learn more about the Jamestown Soccer Club travel program.

While the program aims to introduce players and parents to a more competitive environment Fun still comes first.

Olympic Development Program ("ODP"): The ODP program is designed to compliment a player’s club commitment and all ODP events are scheduled around NCYSA play dates and major College Showcase Tournaments. Players are selected in North Carolina on the basis of open tryouts conducted by the NC Youth Soccer Association State Coaches and experienced college and club coaches, selected by the Olympic Development Program, who are recognized for their abilities to identify and train players with superior talents.
