Uniform and Accessories S.O.P

Effective Date: 2008-09 Season

Updated June 2010

Rationale
  • To avoid a college coach/scout confusing players and therefore player/s missing opportunities to enter into discussion with the college coach/scout. Example: Two teams attend a college showcase event and two JSC players wear #23. The scout may be coming to watch #23 from the Gold team but actually watch #23 from the blue team and therefore not have the correct assessment of the individual.
  • To avoid unnecessary time and effort on the part of the coach/volunteer when a player is asked to guest play as they will not need to seek and return an alternative uniform.
  • In the event a scenario is not covered by this policy it will be dealt with on an individual basis with the final decision being made by the Executive Director and Technical staff.

1.                  Adidas Uniforms: Starting 2010-11 Season all JSC teams will wear Adidas uniforms.

2.                  Accessories: Players may order accessories items such as back packs, sweat suits etc. These items must be Adidas and be ordered through the designated club uniform representative or if applicable club store. This applies to all age groups.

3.                  Wearing of Third Party or other Clubs Apparel: This is strictly prohibited when representing the Jamestown Soccer Club.

4.                  Uniform Ordering Process: All uniform orders will be placed through the designated club uniform representative. At no time is a coach or team manager permitted to order directly through the clubs vendor.

5.                  Incorrect Size Order: In the event that the wrong size is ordered by the parents/player the parent/player will be responsible for all replacement costs and arrangements. In the event the club make the mistake they will be responsible for all replacement cost and arrangements. Samples are available at tryouts.

6.                  Jersey Numbers: It is Club Policy that all players in an age group have different numbers as per the rationale offered.

Resolution Examples:
A) If there are 30 players in an age group and 2 teams (Gold and Blue), no Gold or Blue player will have the same number. In the event of player movement in any direction, the Gold player will always be given first choice. In all cases, current membership will always take priority over new incoming players.

B) Existing JSC Blue player is # 9. A new member/player is offered a spot on Gold team and wants # 9. The Blue player will be given first choice because they are an existing member.

C) In the event that there are multiple incoming players requesting the same number, the Head Coach will make the final decision. This may result in neither player getting the number they requested.

7.                  Player/s Playing Up: Players selected to play up in an age group must have a different from their own true age group and the age group they are playing up in.

8.                  Number Becomes Available: In the event of a number becoming available (e.g. Player moves out of town), the number will be available in the following order:

A)    Existing JSC members will be given first choice as per the Policy (Gold first, Blue second etc). Thereafter the number is available to new players as per the policy.
