Rationale
On occasion Leagues and tournaments may ask for a team to post a bond prior to participating. As such this policy aims to provide the membership clarity on which entity will be responsible for bonds in both league and tournament play situations.
League Play Bonds:
The Jamestown Soccer Club (JSC) will pay for the teams’ primary league play bond if it is requested. This includes Region III Premier League, NCYSA Classic Premier, Division I and II and Challenge league play. If a team enters a league not named the team will need to submit a request in writing to the JSC Committee for approval.
Tournament Play Bonds:
Team will be responsible for the payment and administration of any bonds associated with tournament competition. Does this include national/regional level competitions (mainly thinking US Club)
Appeal Bonds
The party appealing shall be responsible for the payment and administration of any bonds associated with appeals. Example: If a member wishes to appeal a suspension sanction by an affiliate, the member will be responsible for payment of the bond and any administration involved prior to, during or after the appeal regarding the payment.
Bond Forfeit
In the event a team forfeits a bond and the money has been advanced by JSC in accordance with the above policy, the team will be responsible for repayment within 10 business days of the forfeiture.
In this event the funds shall be deducted from the team JYL/JSC account. In the event insufficient funds are available the Head Coach & Manager will be responsible for making sure the team collects the monies and a deposit is made within 10 business days of the receiving notice of the teams account balance.
In the event monies are not collected, the JSC may call a team meeting in order to make arrangements for the repayment of the funds. In the events funds are delayed and arrangements are not made, the club reserves the right to impose competition restrictions on the team such as limiting tournament play. Any additional penalties associated with these restrictions will be the responsibility of the team.
