The Jamestown Soccer Club will have a new look for the 2010 and 2011. Not only will all Jammers teams wear the new look Adidas uniforms, but our logo has also changed.
The 2010-2011 Season will see all Jammer teams sporting new Adidas Regista uniforms. The style will mirror those worn by several top club teams around the world as well as a few National teams this summer at the World Cup in South Africa. It will mark the first time since the reformation of the club in 2005 that every JSC team will have a common look.
"We’re very excited to be taking this latest step in strengthening the JSC brand," said Alan Foy JSC Executive Director. "As our club continues to grow and enhance our identity on the local, state, regional and National levels, it’s important to have a commonality in style and image."
Members will also notice two small additions to the Jamestown SC logo. We have added two “Stars” above our club crest to formally recognize and celebrate the two National Championships secured by the 92 Boys Gold when they won the 2008 USYS National Director’s Cup and the 2009 US Club National Cup Championship.
Adding stars that signify important wins has been a standard throughout world soccer since the late 1950s. The first club to adopt such a mark was Juventus, who added one gold star to represent their 10th Serie A title in 1958. Major League Soccer follows a similar standard, allowing each team to add one star for each MLS Cup won with the exception of the defending champion being allowed to wear the MLS Scudetto for one season before adding the star. Brazil National team has five stars over their National crest to represent the five World Cup victories.
Uniform samples will be available at tryouts and we encourage members to try them on and note the size they need. Orders will only be taken at our registration nights. Samples will again be available on those evenings. We will be sending more information regarding registration nights, tryouts etc shortly.
