Jamestown Soccer Club Non Profit Status

The Jamestown Soccer Club (JSC) is part of the Jamestown Youth League (JYL). The JYL holds a 501 (c) (3) non-profit status designation under the IRS Not-For Profit structure.

Guidelines for Sponsorships, Donations and Fundraising

All Jamestown Soccer Club (JSC) teams are encouraged to raise funds to assist with the costs of tournament participation, travel, team parties. 

Please note that JSC does allow the use of team funds to assist with registration fees.
  • Example: Your team raises $1500.00 and you have 15 players on the roster. Each player can have $100 attributed to their annual registration fee’s. Please note that donations must be distributed evenly across the number of players on a roster or in a player pool (U10).
Guidelines and definitions are as follows:
 
Fundraising --approved examples
Car wash, selling doughnuts/candy, coupon books, Christmas tree sales
Team(s) keeps all proceeds – the use of JSC marketing tools must be approved by the JSC
 
Donations 
Business/Donor donates funds to team(s) via solicitation or offering
Team(s) keeps all proceeds – use of logos or other marketing tools is prohibited
 
Sponsorship(s) – Sponsorships require a “marketing” need and/or labor via JSC personnel in order to obtain the specified monies. Anytime a “Sponsor” requires the use of their logo or JSC marketing tools, this is considered a sponsorship and must be approved by JSC. Sponsorships require man-hours, paid or unpaid, and marketing tools of the JSC (JSC property), therefore a percentage (royalty) of the Sponsorship will belong to the club in order to cover costs associated with said sponsorship. Sponsorship levels will be detailed on following document.
 
*Should a team/individual secure an approved corporate club sponsor, 10% of that sponsorship will go to the team securing said sponsor.
 
JSC members are asked to use “common sense” when pursuing donations, sponsorships, and fundraising. NCYSA states that sponsorships are not to be of the adult variety. JSC will not approve sponsorships marketing alcohol, tobacco, or adult content.
