Tryout Tips

Tryouts are like exams, they can be stressful and comfort levels differ from player to player. We hope these tips can help you feel a little more at ease and enjoy the occassion. After all you do get get to play soccer!! Good Luck!

·         Be on time
 
·         Bring an inflated ball and a drink
 
·         Wear shin guards and be ready to play before the start time
 
·         Be yourself, however be your “best self”
 
·         Warm up on your own or with a few other players, invite new players to the program to join you, if your new to the program, join in don’t be shy. Don’t take 
          shots on goal, juggle, dribble, perfom turns and fakes "moves" and pass off the dribble, stretch
 
·         Show leadership qualities - talk and play during the game.
 
·         Try and be composed at all times. Carry yourself with confidence.
 
·         Show your general athletic ability, including running speed, technical speed and your tactical speed of thought. 
 
·         When you lose possession win the ball back
 
·         Show your intelligence by making simple yet good decisions on and off the ball
